“Your shoe company doesn’t like it, even your agent..” Colin Cowherd emphasises how sitting out will not be good for Kevin Durant’s brand

The Brooklyn Nets seemed to have closed all roads to trading their star player and 2-time NBA champion Kevin Durant. He had made an indication of changing the team for the 2022-2023 season but seemed to have changed his mind, and his team also wants to continue with him in the line-up. Renowned American media personality Colin Cowherd thinks that the Nets player has no grasp and can be confused regarding the same. He even said that someone of Durant’s caliber is the face of the game, and no one will like him sitting out.

Colin quoted, “It’s not good for your brand if you’re sitting out,” Cowherd said. “NBA guys, you don’t wanna do that as a superstar. Your shoe company doesn’t like it. Your agent doesn’t like it. It’s bad for your brand. Adam Silver doesn’t like it. He added, “The Nets could just say, ‘We’re not giving up Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving because we don’t know Ben Simmons will ever recover. We’re just not doing it.”
With only four years left in the contract with the Nets, it will be wrong for someone like Kevin to sit out other than any reason of having issues with the Brooklyn Nets management.
Brooklyn Nets are planning to keep the duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in their line-up

Many franchises, including the Lakers, Celtics, Heat and Wolves were trying to trade in Durant for the upcoming season, but the Nets management seemed to be dis-interested or have unrealistic demands. Last week, NBA analyst Brian Windhorst quoted, “I think the Nets want to run this team back, and they’re hoping Kevin Durant agrees,” Windhorst said. “The way they’re conducting trade talks and the prices they are asking has teams out there thinking they don’t really want to trade Kevin Durant anyway.”

This season, Kevin Durant will have to show some form to prove many rumors wrong and pay back the faith the Nets management has shown in him and Kyrie Irving. Only time will tell whether the duo successfully leads the team to a victorious season or not.
