Teams of the NBA have used Twitter as one of their main mediums of communicating with fans. Over the years, it has turned into one of the biggest platforms used by the league to convey reports, give team updates and highlights. But it has also had user restrictions that stopped people from openly spreading information they feel is important.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban seems to be the most excited Elon Musk’s purchase of the platform. He tweeted saying, “I’m looking forward to the @elonmusk era on Twitter. He is a ready, fire, aim entrepreneur who will truly enjoy fucking with everyone who has an expectation of him. The only expectation you can have of @elonmusk is that he will flex his independence to everyone who’s in charge.”

Elon Musk, who is worth $251 billion happens to be one of the most out spoken and open individuals around. His purchase of Twitter was simply an attempt to take over the world of social media. The $44 billion deal only means that the forum will receive more freedom of speech as this has always been one of the entrepreneur’s biggest motives.

In an article published by BCC, he claimed that he did not purchase the platform to make more money. He said, “I did it to try to help humanity whom I love.” Musk already owns some of the biggest companies in the world, SpaceX and Tesla. Both companies helped skyrocket his net worth from $20 billion in 2019 to becoming the richest individual on earth.

The Dallas Mavericks owner also bought a stake in the Twitter franchise in the past. Just like his peers and fellow team owners, Mark Cuban is also an avid user of the forum. One reason why he might be excited is due to Musk’s plans of entirely making social media a free space for users to express themselves.

However on the contrary, Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks are also making a comeback in the NBA. After making an unexpected trip to the Western Conference Finals, this team is certainly headed that direction once again. Luka Doncic has been soring into new heights averaging 36.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 9.2 assists per game this season. It is early to determine where they will end up after the regular season concludes. But they are in a good space now.
