Russell Westbrook is a historically great point guard and is the all-time leader in triple-doubles. However, Chris Paul is largely considered one of the greatest point guards in the league. However, Paul has failed to achieve the bigger accolades in his career that most all-time points guards have registered in their names. Magic Johnson won multiple championships with the Lakers, John Stockholm is the all-time leader in steals and assists, and Steve Nash won league MVP twice.

DeMarcus Cousins was on “Outta Pocket” podcast, and the big man said he had a problem with people keeping the Phoenix Suns‘ veteran guard in the top PGs list. According to DeMarcus Cousins, the Lakers star Russell Westbrook should be included in the list of Top 5 PGs of all-time. Stating his problem with the list DeMarcus said, “Every time I hear top five PG list, Chris Paul is in it and I am not really understanding why.”

According to the former Laker, Westbrook had more accolades than Chris Paul. Westbrook is a former league MVP, he has been to the finals and has averaged triple-double for an entire season in his career. He has been the NBA’s scoring leader twice in his career and made it to the All-NBA team 9 times in the 15 years of his career in the league.

Cousins also added other names to his list of point guards making a case for Russell Westbrook and also Rajon Rondo. Apart from John Stockholm and Steve Nash, and Westbrook, he said Rondo belongs on the list too. He said, “If we’re going back to the top 5 true point guards Rajon Rondo gotta be on the list.” Rondo has won multiple championships with the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers and was a crucial part of their playoff success.

DeMarcus Cousins said that his problem with CP3 being on the list is strictly from the point of performances and the accolades he has received throughout his career and that doesn’t support his case in the top 5. “No knock to CP. Strictly from accolades and a performance standpoint i don’t think Chris Paul is top five,” said Cousins.
