Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen draped the city of Chicago in gold, winning six championships for the Bulls. As an iconic duo, they struck fear into opposing defenses for many seasons. Surprisingly, today, it appears that they harbor a mutual animosity. However, their former teammate Dennis Rodman believes the two NBA legends will eventually bury the hatchet.
Rodman mentioned that over the years, a lot has transpired between the two, leaving Pippen feeling somewhat bitter. Nonetheless, he remains optimistic that they will eventually reconcile their differences.
It's just a lot of things that's happened over the last couple of years. So, I think Scottie's a little bitter and Michael's more laid back and say, ''Okay, like whatever,'' but they're gonna work it out.the 62-year-old Rodman told Splash News.
Rodman, a three-time championship winner alongside Jordan and Pippen, also found it peculiar to witness the animosity between the two.
He said:
No, I never saw that before. I never saw them fight. Even after the season, I never saw that. They were always hanging out together, playing golf together, traveling together.
Origin of the enmity between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen
Scottie Pippen took offense to the way Michael Jordan downplayed his teammates’ contributions in the 2020 documentary, ‘The Last Dance.’
Since then, the former Bulls superstar hasn’t missed any chance to make both direct and indirect jabs at his former teammate. He even went as far as calling Jordan a “horrible player” before his arrival with the Bulls in 1987.
To rub salt into the wound, Pippen has declared that LeBron James is the greatest player of all time, a distinction typically associated with Jordan. Furthermore, the relationship between Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, and Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa Pippen, is said to have intensified the animosity between the two.
Despite the significant issues that have arisen between the two, Rodman holds onto hope that both former teammates will eventually find a way to resolve their differences and rekindle their friendship.
