Dennis Rodman is undoubtedly the most unique and unrepeatable superstar ever seen in the league’s history. Throughout his career, he made some very controversial, unexpected, and unwanted headlines. His off-court actions even had people doubting his sexuality. But none of that takes away anything from his stacked resume. Rodman is a big winner and the greatest rebounder we will ever see.
Dennis Rodman is a man who loves everyone. He has often shown his support for the LGBTQ+ community. And, he really loves his gay community, as during the 90s and even now he has been visiting some gay bars. The Worm has always done what he felt was right and enjoyed doing. Some of his actions suggest him to be an unsolved mystery today and it’s really not easy for anyone to understand him and his perspective for life.
Dennis Rodman in his recent interview with VLADTV, discussed a moment from his childhood which now he feels to be gay. It was his two sisters dressing him up like a girl while growing up. It really had to be something special as Dennis Rodman himself had some doubtful feelings about it.
In the interview discussing the moment Rodman quoted: “Oh man, that was so gay. Every time I see them I say, ‘Oh lord’ it brings me back. There’s no male figure so they just dressed me as a girl and stuff like that. So I really didn’t fall into that mold, because I could have went in that direction but for some reason, I didn’t do that. I guess something changed in me when I started playing basketball.”
Dennis Rodman’s father abandoned him and his family when he was just two years old. So he was growing up around his mother and two sisters with no male figure in the household. So his sisters dressing him like a girl is understandable. And, even Dennis is shocked that he isn’t gay after those moments, as he credits basketball for that change.

Dennis Rodman thanks God for his unreal growth spurt

In the same interview, Dennis Rodman mentioned how basketball made a big change in his life. Vlad then brought up his unreal growth spurt of 11-12 inches for discussion. He was shocked knowing that the growth spurt which often happens during the teen years, started at age 20 for Rodman.
The 5× NBA champion talking about his growth spurt quoted: “I mean literally jumped up like quick… Every time you put on pro pants they come to your knees almost and with some pair of shoes you got to cut the back off and jump. Because they’ve been busting or stuff like that… That growth spurt was like quick… That’s weird though but like I said Thank God it happened.”
The growth spurt really dragged Dennis Rodman into the league and gave him the right track to be great. Even though he has some very controversial off-court actions. He was never disappointing on the court and tried to get the job done with his best efforts.
