Dennis Schroder with Cops
Amid the ongoing police brutality fiasco in Memphis a Los Angeles Lakers player was subjected to harsh police treatment. After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, Los Angeles police stopped the car carrying Dennis Schroder. Schroder on his YouTube channel stated that that the license plates on the Sprinter were from a Cadillac he had sold which caused the confusion with the cops.
Schroder posted a YouTube video of the incident. When the Sprinter was stopped, Schroder, who said he was receiving usual rehabilitation there, claimed he and his driver initially believed the cops were merely trying to pass them. They eventually instructed them to stop the car, though. According to Schroder, the cops ordered everyone out of the car so they could check it out.
The NBA player claimed that after getting out of the van and doing everything they said and following their instructions, the police very violently handcuffed him. There were “almost 30 police cars towards the end,” according to Schroder. When the police finally discovered the discrepancy—after originally suspecting that the car might have been stolen—they let Schroder to continue his journey without incident. In the video, Dennis Schroder also mentioned all the different weapons he saw with the cops. He also complained about being aggressively handcuffed by the police.
Schroder whose night went 100 to 0 real quick after the Lakers win said, “Then, they found the error, and everything was fine … then everything was settled because usually when something like this happens, it’s stolen vehicles. But that wasn’t the case here. It was crazy. Luckily, nothing happened to anyone. We came home safely.”
