“Street clothes again” – DISAPPOINTED Lakers fans slam Anthony Davis for another injury leaving him out for at least a month

Injuries seem to become synonymous with Anthony Davis in the past two years. The Los Angeles Lakers star has been constantly injured since he won his first NBA championship with LeBron James in 2020. Davis got injured during the Lakers’ game against the Denver Nuggets on Friday after twisting his foot against the leg of Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.
Before the Lakers tip-off against the Washington Wizards, coach Darvin Ham told reporters that there was no given time-table for Davis’ return and that he will see more specialists on Sunday night. Ham also said that the Lakers’ priority is healthy Davis on the court. “The season is fairly early, and he just has to take care of his business, starting first and foremost with him getting back healthy,” Ham said.
After a 2-10 start in the season, the Lakers were building momentum and winning games even against tough opponents. They have won 11 of their 17 games since then. Much of the credit goes to Davis for putting up historical numbers and willing his team to win in absence of LeBron James.
Davis is the Lakers’ scoring leader and was rightfully taking care of business on the offensive glass before he got injured. He was averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game and was among the best, if not the best players in the league since the last month. A.D. had missed 36 of the Lakers’ 72 regular-season games in the 2020-21 season. He again missed 42 of their 82 games last season due to injury and he has just missed the 4th game of this season.

Laker fans were clearly shattered to hear the news and took out all their disappointment on the Lakers forward. Slamming Davis one of the fans wrote, “This isn’t even funny anymore. As soon as they got momentum… unbelievable… Free the King.” Another disappointed fan trolled Anthony and wrote, “Street clothes again.” Here are some more reactions from the fans;
Anthony Davis is irreplaceable on the Lakers’ roster and not even one player can step up to remotely fill his place. However, Thomas Bryant showed some hope to the Lakers after his dominating performance against the Nuggets once Davis left for the locker room. The bad news for the Lakers is, Davis’ long absence can legitimately hamper their hope for a playoff birth, again!
