“This fit is TERRIBLE,” Draymond Green drops Russell Westbrook truth bomb amid Lakers trade rumors

The four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors star player Draymond Green recently spoke in favor of Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook. He stated that playing LeBron James and Russell Westbrook together was a big mistake that the Lakers made. Green even thinks, there is no harm in the Lakers trying to trade Russell to increase the chances of winning the title.

Green was talking on a podcast “CHECC’N-IN” which was hosted by Big U, where he was asked whether LeBron James had requested for the possession of Russell Westbrook. Draymond replied, “I’m sure he probably did, who wouldn’t ask for Russell Westbrook? You’d be out of your mind not to ask for Russell Westbrook.”

Are the Los Angeles Lakers to blame for Brodie’s downfall in 2022 season?

Lakers had acquired Westbrook to have an additional ball handler in the team, supporting LeBron to have rest whenever necessary. But the move backfired, and the Lakers had a disastrous last season. Green believes that Russell is a significant misfit in the Lakers team. He stated, “I one hundred percent think the fit is terrible. I don’t think you could talk to Russell Westbrook right now, and [he] wouldn’t think the fit is terrible. Nonetheless, just because the fit is terrible don’t mean you don’t go for it. Because guess what, if you go for it and it works, then you got a championship.”

Will Russell Westbrook be benched if no trade is made for him?

LA Lakers are trying their best to ship out Russell Westbrook, and they seem to be eyeing the trade to Utah Jazz and acquiring a few of their veteran players. Only time can tell how this coming season shapes up for Westbrook. The UCLA alums have a high chance of being benched through the start of the 2022-23 regular season if he doesn’t find a new home. The only possible role left for him will be as a sixth man in the team. The 2017 MVP could serve as an energy-changing scorer and playmaker, pouring buckets against the opponent team. The kind of player Russell is, it will be difficult for him to accept a reduced role in the team, but he will have no choice left. The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Golden State Warriors on the 19^th Oct in their first game of the 2022-2023 season.
