“LeBron has 4, if I get 5…I’m the greatest ever?” Draymond Green leaves audience in splits after indirectly proclaiming LeBron James as the GOAT
Draymond Green hilariously compares himself to Lebron James
If you did not believe in the Warriors, if you mocked and trolled them for the past 2 years, you will eat your words now as Draymond Green is taking rounds, making sure all of their critics have their mouth’s shut. The streets were filled with ecstasy as the Bay Area rallied their Mastermind Steve Kerr and King, Stephen Curry and his Championship heroes home, holding their pride and the Larry O’Brian trophy aloft, as San Francisco basked in the celebrations.
“You don’t wanna see us next year”, These were Stephen Curry’s words on May 21st, 2021 after a disappointing loss to the Grizzlies in the Play-In Tournament. About 11 months down the line, the Warriors have stepped up and claimed what is theirs, their opponents have bowed down, and the haters are nowhere to be seen, as the Golden State Warriors clinch their 4th NBA Title in 8 seasons.
There was a lot of speculation about where Draymond Green and Golden State will be at the end of this NBA season, after suffering their worst couple of years in recent history. People forget that ‘Warriors’ is their name, it is a part of who they are, winning is in their DNA. Poole found his groove, Klay made a comeback after being out for 2.5 years, and Curry, well he being the Chef has deep fried all his opponents. After having gone through so much, Golden State have reinstated their position back among the elite, with Stephen Curry as their ‘Achilles’, and Draymond is loving it.

“I’m the Greatest Ever then, right ?” – Draymond Green hilariously jokes about being better than Lebron James
Is there a more polarizing player in the NBA than Draymond Green ? none come to mind. The Warriors Centre is one of the most vocal people, on court and off it too. We have seen Draymond being dealt first-hand disrespect throughout the season, he even got blasted by the Boston crowd in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Draymond Green struggled, scoring just two points and adding three assists before fouling out in the fourth quarter in that game. An NBA Championship later, Draymond is the last one laughing, as he loves wiping the smile of the face of all his doubters.
In an episode of the Comedy Central’s, ‘The Daily Show’, Draymond revealed how the Warriors were ridiculed for the past couple of years, specially this year when everyone had written them off as underdogs. However, when Green was asked by Trevor Noah on “The Daily Show” what keeps pushing him to win more championships, he said-
“Well, LeBron has four, and if I get five, I’m the greatest ever, right?”
Draymond Green sent the audience into raptures with this comment, and he was obviously joking , as only 40+ people have won the NBA 4 times in its illustrious 75 year old history. Draymond pointed this jab at all the worthless analysis many enthusiasts do, about the players on the basis of their of their Rings. Although Draymond Green is one of the best defensive players of all time, he is nowhere near LeBron James in terms of overall greatness.
“This one feels different than any other one. It’s like the ultimate f**k you, it’s the best. I feel like people doubted us more this time than they did prior to 2015 when we had never won anything, and I think that’s ultimately why everybody’s like ‘Why in the parade are you saying F everybody and shut up? And that’s because the reality is, they disrespected the work we’ve already done. To disrespect us as if we aren’t champions and write us off like we hadn’t done it before, that’s why I said ‘f**k them.’ Simple.” Draymond elaborated on his Championship victory.
The horrific end to the 2019 NBA Finals, which saw Klay suffering a torn ACL, coupled with 2 of their worst seasons in recent history, some people were assuming that the Warriors dynasty had died, well, seems like it won’t so soon. Draymond finished with 12 points ,12 rebounds, 8 assists in 42 minutes during the Warriors’ 103-90 win over the Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. With that performance, it’s safe to say that he silenced all of his haters.

Well, it’s no secret that Green and James share a special friendship, even extending to their business ventures. The two All-Stars are partners on multiple projects. While they shared an intense rivalry on the court during the legendary duel between Lebron’s Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, competing in an intense NBA Finals for 4 consecutive years.
“That’s the challenge. Can you do it again? My biggest feeling when we won the first one was that this feeling was so great, I will never feel this again in my life. So, you are just chasing that feeling again.” Draymond Green explained on what is driving him to continue working hard and build his legacy by adding more trophies to his cabinet. Clearly , he respects Lebron James enough to know his place up against him, it was more of a satire at useless analysts and fans who compare players by their championships rather than their impact on the game.
