The Los Angeles Lakers have eliminated the Golden State Warriors from the playoffs race. Playing Game 6 at home, the Lakers put up a dominating display as they thwarted the defending champions. Golden State succumbed to their trend of losing away games this season as they lost all three road games this series. The Lakers, on the other hand, have a 100% win record at home in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. While the Lakers played authoritatively, Draymond Green had an impressive game defensively to give the Warriors a sliver of a chance at making a comeback.
The Warriors visibly struggles in Game 6 with Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins combining for only 6 points. Stephen Curry scored 32 points, however, he too had a rough night with his shooting. The two-time MVP shot 11-28 from the field and 4-14 for three-pointers. Although the Warriors weren’t at their best, the Lakers did a great job at sealing the series out. While LeBron James put up a phenomenal 30-point show, Austin Reaves had an impressive 23 points. Anthony Davis made his precious contributions on the defensive end while putting up 17 points with 20 rebounds. The score at the end of regulation was 101-122.
A key aspect of all sports is the act of sportsmanship. The rivalry between teams and players ends after the game is finished and the players shake hands. That is exactly what the Lakers, and the Warriors showed everyone after the series was closed out. However, many fans are left unimpressed as Draymond Green and LeBron James hugged after the game. Green was smiling after both players shared a moment and fans were not too impressed to see his glee.

Draymond Green is recognized as one of the best defenders in the NBA. However, the Warriors forward has had his loyalty to the organization questioned in recent times. Green is an honest player with unfiltered takes and opinions. While he expresses himself freely, his appreciation for LeBron James in recent times has fans speculating about his intentions to leave Golden State. Moreover, after his reaction to losing Game 6, many fans are fuming over his appreciation for James.
The Golden State Warriors will go into the off-season looking to brush this season’s struggles off their shoulders. The Los Angeles Lakers, on the other hand, have advanced to the Western Conference Finals. They will now face the Denver Nuggets in the best-of-seven series. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray have been magnificent for Denver the entire season.
After all, they walked into the postseason as the number one seed in the West. However, LeBron James has the championship DNA in him and knows how to lead his team to win. Needless to say, the face-off between both these teams will be exciting.
