Luka Doncic and head coach Jason Kidd both were ejected from the game against Minnesota Timberwolves. With over 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, Doncic was faced with Jaden McDaniels defending him. He faked the ball, took a pivot turnaround, and bumped into McDaniels. Doncic threw the ball in the air expecting a foul call but was denied.
As Luka stayed on the floor, Anthony Edwards was fouled by the Dallas Mavericks. As the video shows, Doncic kept saying something to Rodney Mott, one of the officials in the game. Within seconds, Mott slapped Luka with a technical, causing an automatic ejection. Doncic had his first technical earlier in the game.
Jason Kidd, the Mavericks’ head coach was infuriated after the call and rushed to the court to question Luka’s ejection. Furious with the call, Kidd could barely hold his emotions as he went after referee Nick Buchert after the call. Buchert also threw Kidd out of the game as he was seen being held by one of the coaching staff.
It was Jason Kidd’s 113th game as a head coach and it was also his second ejection as a head coach. Late last year, Kidd was ejected from the game against the Washington Wizards by Tony Brothers.

After the game, Doncic spoke to the media in the postgame press conference. Speaking about his ejection, the Mavericks star said that he didn’t deserve the second tech. “I deserved the first one. I’m not going to lie. But for sure not the second one,” Doncic said. “I was really shocked when I was ejected.”
Disappointed with officiating and a brutal loss Kidd refused to take any questions from the media, however, he fulfilled his media obligation. Kidd indirectly indicated that he was still upset. “I already gave up money, so I don’t want to give up any more,” Kidd said. “They were the better team tonight, and we’ll go from there. Thanks for showing up.”

In the last few games, a number of superstars have been ejected from the game. A few nights before Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was ejected from the game with a second technical. NBA fans took to Twitter on Monday to slam the officials for back-to-back ejections. Dallas Mavericks lost their 16th game of the season against the cold-handed Minnesota Timberwolves. Coming from a win against the Chicago Bulls, they defeated the Mavericks 106-116. Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves’ offense with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists. Doncic scored only 19 points snapping his franchise record for most consecutive 20-point games.
