Damian Lillard showered Moda Center with his worldly performance on Wednesday. He scored a season-high 60 points In Portland Trail Blazers‘ win against the Utah Jazz. The star guard was coming off a disappointing win against the Lakers after Portland blew up 25 points lead in the second half of the game. This is 3rd time this season, a player in the league has scored 60 or more points in a game. Before Lillard, Luka Doncic and Donovan Mitchell scored 60 and 71 respectively. With his masterful performance, he is now tied for second place for the highest point in a single game, this season.
However, he did not only insult Utah‘s defense in the game, but he also said later that, but his 60 points also came easy this time. “I think any time you score 60 points it’s special, but I think this one I just felt like it came pretty simple,” Lillard said. The 6 x NBA All-Star is now officially tied with Michael Jordan and James Harden at the third spot for multiple 60 points in career games. Earlier, only Wilt Chamberlin and Kobe Bryant have more 60-point games than Lillard. Chamberlain has 32 games with 60 or more points and Bryant sits in the second spot with six, 60 or more points game.

The Blazers star also made 9 of 15 shots from beyond the arc. Later, Lillard said that he didn’t even know that he was going to score his 60-point game until his head coach Chauncy Billups told him. When Jazz coach Will Harvey was asked what Utah could have done to put an end to Lillard’s run double-teaming him for the leather part of the game. ”I guess in theory we could have sent three people at him,” Harvey said.
