Kenyon Martin Jr.'s awful play on Dwight Powell

In today’s game, Houston Rockets player Kenyon Martin Jr. showed off his belligerence by intentionally kneeing Dallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell in the face. Even though it appeared to be an accidental incident during the game and it is uncertain if the move was intended, it definitely did hurt Mavs big man.

At the American Airlines Center, the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks squared off and this season, the Mavs have done quite well. As of right now, they have an 8-6 record, which is outstanding. The Rockets, on the other hand, have had a difficult season, going 3-12 with a young squad that is in the process of a rebuild.

Without Luka Doncic, Christian Wood and Tim Hardaway Jr. put up impressive scoring totals, but the Mavericks lost to the Rockets.

Kenyon Martin Jr. soared up against the Mavs for a huge slam early in the first quarter of the game. He didn’t stop there as he hung on to the rim, kneeing Dwight Powell who was standing beneath it. The referee called a technical foul on him as soon as he put his foot back on the ground.

A flagrant 1 foul, two free throws, and possession for the Mavs were awarded to him after the play was stopped for review. Although Martin’s motivations for the behavior are yet unknown, fans all across the world perceived it as nothing more than a dirty play.
