The Sixers had an incredible ending to their battle against the Nuggets last night. It was certainly an exciting game for the fans who tuned in. Mainly because both teams are a potential finals matchup. For one, Nikola Jokic has been ripping apart opponents with his insanely high basketball IQ.

Though the Sixers finished off in style, the ball wasn’t necessarily in their ball at the start of the game. They had a few struggles offensively and fumble a little bit. This had teammates Shake Milton and Georges Niang fighting each other midway through the 2nd quarter. NBA players generally love showing off their dominance, perhaps this is Shake’s moment, he thought to himself.

Unfortunately, luck ran out as Milton failed to acknowledge the importance of teamwork. After acquiring a massive steal from the Nuggets, Niang as well as Milton took charge of the break. Shake decided to attack the rim despite two easy points that could’ve been made by an open Niang. A timeout was called and Niang’s temper hit the ceiling.

As the Sixers approached the bench, Niang made it a point to confront his teammate over the missed opportunity. Things got a little heated between both Sixers players and their teammates had to step in to calm them down. Things like these do happen under pressure, and perhaps Milton did not process the moment correctly. However, fans ripped the Sixers over this play. One fan said, “Ben (Simmons) would’ve made that pass.” Here are a few more reactions.

The Sixers, on one hand, have been exceptional on the court winning games consistently. Now ranked as the second seed, they are legitimate contenders for the title. They have won 9 of their last 10 games which shows that they’re chemistry has been developing over the last few months. James Harden and Joel Embiid are turning out to be lethal.

Embiid, averaging 33.8 points, 10 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, was shockingly snubbed as an All-Star Starter. This was completely unexpected due to the fact that he has been arguably the best in the league. As Embiid has been a frontrunner for the MVP title this season, several other candidates were left baffled over him not being selected. Nikola Jokic also stated that Joel deserved to be a starter this year.
