In light of a recent segment of First Take, famous Sports commentator and analyst Stephen A Smith was questioned about his views on whether the Los Angeles Lakers are in a better position and a better team than the Phoenix Suns, and to everyone’s surprise, Smith was seen talking in favor of the LA Lakers being the better-performing team in the league. Smith who is known for his bold assertions was yet again criticized by NBA fans for his views.

Smith in his appearance on the First Take gives all due credit to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker being the strong players of the team and also the reason behind the Sun’s numerous victories in the Season. But given that, Smith laid out various other factors that back his claim as to why the Lakers are better. One is the players on the roster, and especially that the team is functioning under the leadership of the NBA legend LeBron James.

Smith asserts that the Lakers have size and have players on the roster who possess a great skill of taking shots better at all points across the basketball floor. In his appearance, he said:

Stephen A. Smith emphasizes James’ pivotal role in the Lakers’ position in the Western Conference standings. He sheds light on the fact that despite being the oldest player in the league, James has been nothing but dominant since the start of the season and indeed has carried the team to many victories as well. Smith along with James also gave credit to elite players like Anthony Davis who is known to be one of the best forwards in the league to also had his fair share of contributions to the franchise’s success so far.

Smith in his take says that despite the fact the Lakers have been having quite the time with players being injured and not at their best and healthy, he asserts that once the team is all back healthy, there is no stopping for James and the Lakers to collectively dominate, establishing that they are better than the Phoenix Suns.

Fans claimed that an assertion like that can’t be solely on the basis of a team’s shooting and size and emphasized that the Suns have Bradley Beal along with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker who have been a dominant trio for the Suns.
