“I expect big things from him” Former NBA Champ expects Zion Williamson to impose utmost authority in 2022-23 season

Zion Williamson and Richard Jefferson
NBA star player Zion Williamson is back with his team New Orleans Pelicans after missing the 2021-22 season with a broken foot. However, analyst Richard Jefferson expects Zion to come back stronger and impose his authority in the upcoming NBA 2022-2023 season. Richard was talking on ESPN’s ‘NBA Today,’ where he backed Zion who looks much healthy and leaner as compared to the last NBA season.

Richard Jefferson said, “Write this down, my thing about the Pelicans is less been Zion. It’s about the Pelicans. What do I want to see from the Pelicans? When I say expectations from Zion Williamson, some of missed expectations are team based. They’re not just individual. If he goes out there and averages 28 and his team doesn’t make it to the postseason, we can say Zion is healthy, Zion is good. No. This is the first time he has an opportunity to be a high-level professional. Let’s go play basketball. Talk but playing basketball.”
RJ added, “If we can focus on basketball, if he can play with Larry, C.J., all of these things, my expectations from Zion are not individually based. They are team based. Let’s see you play 70 games, see what you can do with your team, get your team to the second round. They are a first round team right now without you. Those are my expectations for him, is how well he can incorporate into being a team leader.”
Zion Williamson says the Notorious B.I.G inspires him

New Orleans Pelicans star player Zion Williamson shared a story at the end of his Pelicans media day interview. It was a story of being inspired by the Notorious B.I.G., an American rapper. Williamson cited ‘Ready to Die’ as a go-to album to get him through tough times. It helped to change his perspective on dealing with stress and feeling like the world’s weight was on his shoulders. He said, “That album, lyrically, how he talked about stress, what he was dealing with feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders…Feeling like you are standing alone.“
“That album helped shift my mindset to find true resolve within the game. I’m 22 and have been through a lot in the past year and some change. There are some things you wish didn’t happen. From that album you just learn, that’s life. Things are going to happen. You just have to roll with them.” He added, “Something mentally in me shifted, changed. The game of basketball..that’s it for me. That’s what I love. That’s what I want to do.” The New Orleans Pelicans play their first game of the upcoming NBA season on 19th Oct against the Brooklyn Nets
