The Golden State Warriors had a disappointing end to their 2022-23 NBA season. Playing as the defending champions, the Warriors fell to the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. After their struggling postseason run, there have been many conversations surrounding Golden State. Many have questioned Jordan Poole‘s role on the side. On the other hand, some have even criticized veteran player Klay Thompson.

Since the end of their season, the Warriors have been the hub of trade rumors. Fans and critics have weighed in on who they need in order to come back stronger in the 2023-24 NBA season. Quite recently, former Warriors point guard Gilbert Arenas too expressed his views on potential changes that could be made.

“I would see if I could try to get Jordan Poole (traded) and see if we can find someone who is more stable,” Arenas said on the ‘fubo Sports’ YouTube channel. “Because his game is erratic. It’s AAU style. It’s a herk and jerk style, highlight reel type of game where I want to shake you, I need to bake you on every single play. And when you’re talking about being great or being consistent, you have to understand how to get easy buckets. With Jordan right now, it’s 90% of his game. So I’m going to try to move him and maybe if I can move him I can get Jaylen Brown?”

Arenas also went on to explain his point further, saying, “If I’m them, I’m going to try to package Poole and Wiggins and see what I can get out of it. If I can get a strong third option. Or if I can save money by getting rid of Poole and Wiggins for Jaylen Brown and let Draymond walk and sign Ben Simmons. There are so many options that can happen. It all depends on the mindset and what everyone is thinking.”

The favorite player in terms of trading away for the GSW fans is Jordan Poole. Poole had a disappointing playoff run this season as he failed to make an impact in the 13 games the Warriors played. He averaged 10.3 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.2 rebounds in the 2023 playoffs. Although he has been one of their impressive younger prospects, fans have been frustrated with his gameplay for a while now.

There are quite a few rumors going around as to who the Warriors could potentially rope in. The fan favorite for a while now has been the Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. On the other hand, many are also suspecting that Golden State could go for players like Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and other star players. However, it is more likely that if they were to trade players like Poole and Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors would bring in scoring supporters for Stephen Curry.

There’s no doubt that all eyes will be on the Golden State Warriors. They have been one of the most successful franchises in the league and will look to keep their dominance intact. It will be interesting to see if they make any drastic changes or if they run the same team back.
