Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Jordan
Hakeem Olajuwon once revealed another reason for Michael Jordan to stand above all as the G.O.A.T. There is no doubt about the fact that MJ is one of the best players to ever touch a basketball or even set a foot on the hardwood. What he has achieved during his 15 season long career in the league is noteworthy and unrepeatable. As we will never see a player like Michael Jordan again and even Hakeem Olajuwon has backed this take by narrating his experience of facing Black Jesus and what he was capable of doing in the paint.

Michael Jordan was a 6 ft 6 inches big shooting guard. But he had the potential to dominate his rivals from any position on the court. He is still one of the best guards in the business but he never limited himself to that one role. As Michael Jordan wasn’t just godlike on the offensive end but was also a beast on the defensive one. And, his hard to match resume which has six NBA championships and multiple awards, honors and records registered under his name for being great on both the ends is loud enough to prove his greatness.
Michael Jordan was a freak on the court as he had unreal bounce and alien like knees as he gifted a poster to his rivals every night he suited up. He wasn’t just a guard who can shoot and make some plays. As he was explosive and always erupted in the paint and had one of the best mid-range games. He also dominated the paint while he was going against some of the best centers in the league history.

Michael Jordan really had the potential to be a big man and dominate the league but he wasn’t a big guy and it was just his deep bag of skills. And, even Hakeem Olajuwon believes MJ never got the correct recognition for the heroics and greats he pulled out in the paint against seven-footers who were one of the deadliest guys in the line back then.

Hakeem Olajuwon speaking about the best big men and the guys who started a whole new system of pick and roll, small ball and other such styles. Also discussed Michael Jordan and while doing so he quoted: “MJ wasn’t a traditional big man, but he was an everything guy. Michael was a genius on the low block. He really did jump first and decide in the air.”
Further, Hakeem Olajuwon narrating his experience while going head to head against Michael Jordan said: “Michael probably doesn’t get enough recognition for how well he passed out of the post. You could always tell when Michael was killing us inside because Will Perdue and Luc Longley’s points went way up…”

Hakeem Olajuwon isn’t wrong with his take as Michael isn’t really credited that well for the dominant runs he had in the paint while getting the ball on the floor. As he used to destroy careers with his explosiveness and also had a complete package of layups. Many are forgetting about his greatness lately and we just hope he doesn’t takes it personally or else he’ll be returning back to the league and ending the G.O.A.T debate for once and for all.
