“He is going to regret leaving the Warriors,” Jalen Rose on Kevin Durant’s decision to join Brooklyn.

Jalen Rose claims Kevin Durant was perfect at the Warriors and will regret leaving.

“He is going to regret leaving the Warriors,” Jalen Rose on Kevin Durant’s decision to join Brooklyn.

Kevin Durant has been left alone in Brooklyn by Kyrie Irving and it might be time for some retrospection. Kevin Durant was most successful in his career at the Golden State Warriors where he won 2 championships and Finals MVPs. In his 3 years with the Warriors he made the finals each year. KD was the best player on the best team in the NBA and still decided to leave.

Jalen Rose said, “That was a tailor-made situation” while referring to his time at Golden State. KD left the Warriors after suffering an Achilles injury in game 5 of the 2019 NBA finals. After losing in 2019, KD went to the Brooklyn Nets to team up with Kyrie and now the latter has left him stranded. The duo played just 74 games together despite KD joining in 2019. Although KD was recovering for their first year together, after that it was Kyrie who has been missing all the action. Kyrie got injured during their 2021 playoff run which was their best shot at a championship.

Kevin Durant cannot catch a break since joining the Nets

Kevin Durant has been with the Nets for 4 years now and has nothing to show for it. During his first year, he was injured so he could not do much apart from cheer on .The following season he had Kyrie fit and the Nets played very well. They added former MVP James Harden as well before the trade deadline and looked set to make the finals.

However things did not go to plan. Kyrie sprained his ankle, Harden tore his hamstring and that was that. KD pushed the Milwaukee Bucks to game 7 overtime but ended up losing. His shot to send the game to OT could have won them the game if his toe was not on the 3 point line.

Following that dramatic season, James Harden decided he is not happy and demanded a trade. Harden ended up at Philadelphia while KD and Kyrie got Ben Simmons. Simmons has not been half the player he was as a rookie and KD and Kyrie have carried Brooklyn to where they are right now.

Durant must be incredibly frustrated. He is stuck with a mediocre Ben Simmons after having an all star trio just two years back. Before he knew it, KD has gone from winning championships in the Bay to seeing his team breakdown in Brooklyn. Maybe Golden State really was as good as it gets for KD.
