Stephen Curry was the star of the show despite the Golden State Warriors losing to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Steph had a lot of praise for Clipper’s Russell Westbrook post-game when he said – “The one thing about Russ we all know is no matter what people say about him or how he’s playing, he competes.“. Russell Westbrook had a rough start to his Los Angeles Clippers career but has improved during their 4-game win streak.
“Every night, he shows up and plays hard. That’s something you can’t teach. It’s a lost art these days,” continued Steph. Russell Westbrook is known for his unlimited engine and desires to be involved in every single play if he can. Westbrook scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished seven assists in 27 minutes in the Clipper’s victory. Russell Westbrook has been criticized for his poor shooting, but his passion for the game has never been under question.
“I think he’s starting to figure out his role and how he can impact their team,” said Steph on Westbrook settling into life on the other side of Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook left the Lakers after a tumultuous one and half years there and joined their rivals for a new challenge this trade deadline. Russell Westbrook will look to prove his doubters wrong with the Clippers in this year’s playoffs.

Russell Westbrook and The Los Angeles Clippers have turned their season around

The Clippers had been on a game-losing streak since the end of February, and things were looking bleak in LA. They broke their line against a depleted Memphis Grizzlies team and have not looked back since. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have led the way in insurgence as the Clippers are the 5th seed in the West and just 0.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns.
The Clippers will end their five-game home stretch against the Orlando Magic and hope to go perfect before a trip to Portland. Kawhi Leonard has been the star during this winning stretch averaging 31 points and 8 rebounds while shooting above 50% from the field and three-point range. The Klaw has been available more than usual this season and it is working well as the Clippers look like contenders with him.
The Los Angeles Clippers will face the Kevin Durant-led Phoenix Suns in the first round and are looking for revenge. The Suns knocked them out of the Conference Finals in 2021 only to lose in the NBA finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Clippers look like a revitalized unit over the last week and will hope to keep this streak going when the post-season arrives.
