Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons made his debut for the Brooklyn Nets a week ago, everyone at Brooklyn expected the Australian guard to contribute massively in their games against various teams but in the 3 games the Nets have played this season, Simmons has fouled out in 2 of them including their season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. Needless to say, Simmons was heavily criticized for his style of play and his lack of aggressiveness however his teammates are very supportive of him and continue to motivate him
Speaking to Nick Friedell of ESPN, Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving shared his advice saying, “This is an emotional time in our world. People attack other people for what they believe in, their jobs, whatever it is. So harsh criticism is part of it, but what’s justified is how you respond. And how you deal with it.”
He further said, “Whenever you go to social media for honest answers, I don’t know if you’re going to return smarter than when you went in. … There are also good people on there reaching out and wanting to help others, so I’m just one of those people for sure.“
