Ja Morant was once again seen flashing a handgun in an Instagram Live. He was under the heat for the same controversial actions just some months prior. The last time he flashed a handgun at a strip club in Denver during an Instagram Live, the league suspended him for 8 games. He even ended up losing around $40 million. Ja Morant then went through counseling and got all the required norms done. He even apologized to everyone for his disappointing actions.

But that apology was fake and clearly Ja Morant didn’t live up to his own words. Now the basketball world is waiting for the league to announce his punishment as they hope he’ll get better after it. Adam Silver in a recent media session around the NBA Finals updated the basketball world with the punishment for the young Memphis Grizzlies guard. Being the league’s commissioner he revealed that the investigation is done and they have collected a fair amount of information about the situation and Ja Morant.

Adam Silver also mentioned how the league has worked alongside the Player’s Association to punish Ja Morant. But he didn’t announce the punishment and the reason behind it is fair and understandable. As the announcement will take away the spotlight from the ongoing 2023 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets because Ja Morant is a global superstar.

Ja Morant will surely be suspended for a good period this time and can even be fined for his actions. He received the warning some months ago but failed to get better and learn. Even though the punishment hasn’t been revealed yet. NBA Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski has sent out a number for the games Ja Morant now can be suspended for.

Sitting alongside Malika Andrews, Adrian Wojnarowski opinionated on the potential suspension of Ja Morant. While doing so the NBA Insider, brought eligibility criteria for the post-season awards to the conversation and quoted: “Adam Silver was very intentional with his words last night. It does not bode well for Ja Morant. I think when you start to look at possible lengths of suspension. I think an interesting number to look at is 17. Because now the NBA… has a new rule that a player has to play 65 games to be eligible for the post-season awards.”

Further, diving deep into the reason behind his take, Adrian Wojnarowski added: “So for Ja Morant 18 games would make him ineligible for the post-season awards. What you heard from Adam Silver is what a lot of people all around the league, in Memphis, everywhere believe, that no one’s gonna be able to say this time, ‘Adam, you went too lightly on Ja Morant.’”

Adam Silver didn’t just stop there and even discussed the loss Memphis Grizzlies have faced and will be facing. While he pointed out the seriousness of the situation by quoting: “There’s just not a lot of empathy from around the NBA. And I think there’s even pressure from some teams to deal fairly harshly with Ja Morant.”

Now it’s high time for Ja Morant to get better at his controversial actions. As just in the past year he has been in many controversial headlines suggesting him to not be the face of the league anytime soon. As nobody likes to promote a bad guy who many are claiming to be a thug while his actions suggest that he wants to make it out of the league.
