“It seemed like they were down fifteen, because they quit” Jalen Rose slam Brooklyn Nets for quitting as Celtics take 3-0 lead in playoffs
Jalen Rose on Brooklyn Nets
Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have been quite the eyebrow-raiser during the first-round series against the surprises out of the Eastern Conference. The Boston Celtics are currently up 3-0 in the series against the Nets and people are starting to get concerned over KD’s consistent disappointments. No team has ever been able to win four games straight in the playoffs after losing their first three unless the Nets experience a miracle.
The Celtics were able to steal a Game 3 last night leaving Brooklyn in utter disbelief and frustration. Kevin Durant has not been able to decode Boston’s defense as he otherwise would have. Boston has been playing extremely tight defense against the veteran limiting his scoring ability by miles as he shot 36.5% in this series making 19-52 from the field.
Jayson Tatum takes the Brooklyn Nets for a roll in Game 3
Putting aside the tragic events surrounding Kevin Durant and the Nets, Jayson Tatum has been the star of the series. He has been putting up 29.6 points per game against the Nets in this three-game stretch along with 5 rebounds and 8 assists as well. In Game 3, Tatum scored 39 points to lead the Celtics to their third win.
Following their third straight victory, Tatum highlights Boston’s performance in retrospect to the regular season. He said, “I think it just shows the growth of our team. Early in the season, we gave up big leads all the time. And we figured it out. You’re never going to be perfect, it’s all about how you respond. We kept responding.” He further said, “My message is, nobody plays harder than we do.”
Jalen Rose says the Brooklyn Nets have officially quit the series
After making a comeback late in the regular season, the Nets regained their name among the title contenders. But now they have completely walked away from it after KD and Kyrie Irving’s consistent underperforming. Jalen Rose spoke about the issue with the Nets saying that they have quit playing for the title.
“The Nets quit. You see the thing about it when I see KD joking with Jayson Tatum during the game and he (Tatum) is having a historic series and he’s dominating him (Durant) on both ends of the floor. That ain’t about him and KD, that’s about the other fourteen guys. And so when your best player is not taking it seriously as your whole team would in this situation… they quit.”
