“Even when we win, they talk about the other team” – Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic, Michael Malone TIRED OF DISRESPECT towards Nuggets, call out NBA media
The Denver Nuggets have had enough of the disrespect being directed towards them from the media as they call out the analysts for their bias.

The Denver Nuggets have won their second straight game against the Los Angeles Lakers, extending their lead to 2-0. The #1 seed Nuggets dominated the regular season to make their way into the playoffs, and are doing the same in the postseason. The team with one of the most impressive records, an MVP candidate, and other superstars, which has cruised past its rivals in the playoffs, being disrespected isn’t something that one would expect. However, that is exactly what is happening despite the Nuggets defeating the Lakers yet again, 108-103.
Per Nikola Jokic, despite the Nuggets being the team getting the wins and dominating play, the media is favoring the Lakers. Jokic said, “To be honest, I like it. We don’t care. Whatever. If you remember even in the bubble when we beat Utah, they were talking about how they blew the lead. When we beat the Clippers, it was about them blowing the lead.”
Jamal Murray had a similar thing to say about the national narrative and the Nuggets flying under the radar. Murray said, “Even when we win, they talk about the other team.” This highlighted the disrespect Murray and his teammates felt. The Nuggets’ Head Coach Michael Malone reiterated the same, but with firm words.
Malone said, “You win Game 1 of the Playoffs, & all everybody talked about was the Lakers. Let’s be honest. That was the national narrative… No one talked Nikola (Jokić) just had a historic performance… The narrative was about the Lakers & their adjustments.” Malone added, “Put that in your pipe and smoke it. you come back and you know what – we’re going to go up 2-0”

Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets DOMINATE the Lakers yet again
It is no surprise that the Nikola Jokic-led Nuggets are capable of doing what they are doing, despite the media’s narratives. While the media might be busy talking about the Lakers and their oncoming strategies, look at Jokic’s records that Michael Malone spoke about. Malone said, “Joker, for those who don’t know him, he’s got 13 playoff triple-doubles now. It’s just incredible what he continues to do on a nightly basis on the biggest stage in the world.”
Malone highlighted how Jokic’s 13 triple-doubles are third all-time, highlighting the caliber of his players. The Nuggets have nothing to prove as they’ve won the second straight game in the Western Conference Finals.
LeBron James, as many suggested, did not come back from his horrendous Game 1 performance, flopping again, quite literally this time. The remainder of the Lakers’ squad, that James complained about last time, did the same job. It’ll be interesting to see how the Lakers move ahead and if they even plan to come back.
As for the status currently, the Nuggets have everything in their arsenal ready to not give away the lead they’ve gained. Be it Jamal Murray and his chemistry with Jokic, or the Nuggets’ defense always showing up, the team has it all. Game 3 between the Lakers and the Nuggets goes down on Sunday.
