NBA analyst and former player Kendrick Perkins has offered a daring remedy to the Philadelphia 76ers and James Harden‘s continuing feud. Talking on ESPN’s NBA Today, Perkins proposed a trade that may upend the league: the 10-time All-Star would be sent to the Los Angeles Lakers. Harden reportedly prefers the Los Angeles Clippers, but Perkins suggested that a combination of Harden, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis on the Lakers would be advantageous to both parties.
According to Perkins, Harden’s ability to generate plays might be very advantageous for Davis, giving him chances to score that are like to what he did for Joel Embiid last season.
Perkins said:
If I’m the Los Angeles Lakers, I might be looking to trade for James Harden. James Harden wants to go to the Clippers but, to be honest with you, [him] to the Lakers makes the most sense for Anthony Davis. If you want to get him good, easy looks like James Harden did for Joel Embiid last season, how about trading for him?
Perkins also conjectured about a possible blockbuster deal involving Harden and D’Angelo Russell, the guard for the Lakers. This deal may actually happen after December 15, when teams are allowed to incorporate free-agent signings in deals. NBA fans online were shocked by Perkins’s proposal of a potential alliance of Harden, James, and AD, even if there isn’t currently any hint of an impending trade involving Harden.
Sixers advised exercising patience midst of developing the James Harden trade situation
The Philadelphia 76ers are dealing with a difficult scenario in spite of James Harden’s difficult circumstances. The situation was made worse by the team’s decision to leave Harden out of the inaugural road trip, even though he was prepared to go. But the 76ers will have to wait patiently for a good trade offer to come up.
It’s accepted that there may not be much hope for the relationship, especially in light of Harden’s past postseason success. Despite his flaws, other teams might still be interested in him, thus the 76ers need to outlast their desperate rivals in order to have a chance at a trade.
As of right now, only the Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest—albeit with a meager offer. The 76ers have turned down the Clippers’ lowball offer and are justifiably waiting for something substantial. Even without Harden, the 76ers have shown resiliency during the regular season because of the contributions of players like Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, and Kelly Oubre JR.
While it’s by no means perfect, the current predicament is thought to be easier to handle than the Ben Simmons conundrum. Even with his shortcomings, Harden has demonstrated a desire to play, which has made him an invaluable player during the regular season and highlighted the team’s resilience in the face of adversity.
