Watch: Jaylen Brown adjusts mid-air for epic poster dunk against depleted Rockets

Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics against a depleted Houston Rockets squad. The scores stood at 126-102 at the end of the game on Tuesday night. Brown led the scoring efforts, scoring 39 points, 2 assists, and 1 rebound in the 35 minutes that he played. Tatum was not too far behind either, the forward amassed 38 points,8 rebounds, and 4 assists in the 34 minutes that he played.

But that’s not why Brown is grabbing the headlines. Brown is trending for his dunk against the Rockets that sent shockwaves around the NBA. The forward in the final minutes of the 1st quarter received the ball from Sam Hauser and then is seen charging towards the basket from the 3-pointer line. He then made a jump for the dunk before adjusting himself mid-air and dunked the ball over Rockets forward Usman Garuba. Here’s a video of the sensational dunk from the Celtics’ star

With this stellar performance Tatum became the 2nd player to have scored more than 1000 points this season just behind Luka Doncic of the Mavericks. Boston established a franchise record for the most 3-point attempts in a regulation game by shooting 47.3 percent overall and going 20 of 56 (35.7 percent) from 3-point range. Tatum and Brown both hit six triples.

Jalen Green led the scoring efforts for the Rockets where he scored 28 points followed closely by Kevin Smith Jr., who scored 22 points. Forward Kenyon Martin dropped 17 points. The Celtics were in the lead 92-81 after the third quarter. Grant Williams of Boston hit a pair of 3-pointers in quick succession, and Malcolm Brogdon (six points, eight assists) then fed Robert Williams for a slam to cap an 8-0 run before Houston’s Gerald Green hit a 3-pointer to conclude the quarter.

Jayson Tatum doesn’t want him and Jaylen Brown to be compared to Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan

Jayson Tatum has shared his emotions regarding the comparisons made between him and Jaylen Brown and Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Tatum made a point to point out how absurd it once was that people were asking the Boston Celtics to trade one of them. The Boston Celtics combination is now being compared to the legendary Chicago Bulls team all of a sudden in the basketball world.

Tatum is humble enough to acknowledge that as flattering as that may seem, the pair isn’t anywhere near the caliber of the six-time NBA champs. The Celtics player asserted that Brown and he are significantly better than how they were seen in the past. He said, “Last year y’all wanted to trade one of us now you’re saying, Mike and Scottie. We’re not as bad as you said, but we’re not as good as Mike and Scottie.”

With a 25-10 record, the Celtics have the best record in the NBA, and Tatum and Brown are obviously taking control on offense. The rest of the Celtics team is managing the game’s other components in the meanwhile. This year, Boston is having a strong showing and is widely expected to win the championship.
