One of the most fierce players on the court, and one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game, Russell Westbrook, has two lives on and off the court. Despite his fiery personality on the court, the NBA’s 9x All-Star has a heart of gold when it comes to showing his support and love for the people around him. Taylor Rooks, the NBA reporter from TNT, recently revealed an example of his good deeds. She disclosed that Utah Jazz’s new recruit left a housekeeper a sum of $10k in his hotel room during the 2020 NBA bubble.

Previously, NBA.com writer Shaun Powell tweeted that he had asked locker room attendants about the best locker room players, and one of them was Russell Westbrook. “I always ask locker room attendants in every NBA city to reveal who the best players are with their tips and their time. And three names are always mentioned: Steph Curry, Draymond Green … and Russell Westbrook,” Powell wrote

Replying to the tweet, Taylor Rooks recounted an incident from the Orlando Bubble. She said Westbrook left a $10k sum for the attendant because he believed it was the right thing to do. “In the NBA Bubble, Russ reportedly left around a 10k tip for the housekeepers at the hotel. When I asked him about it he said he left a big one but wouldn’t confirm the amount. “the money doesn’t matter. I just like to do the right thing,” she wrote

In a recent segment on NBA Today on ESPN, Dave McMenamin labeled Russell Westbrook as a vampire. “As one source told me, you remove a vampire from the locker room,” McMenamin said during the “NBA Today” trade deadline special. “That meaning, a vampire sucks the blood out of the locker room. Russell Westbrook moves on,” added Dave.

Replying to the disrespectful remarks about her husband, Nina Westbrook slammed ESPN for carelessness in releasing such a statement. “This is just sick ESPN… Russell is no vampire,” Nina wrote. “This also slander because anyone who knows anything knows that this couldn’t be further from the truth,” she added. She further said, “On a personal note, I have school aged children who have to listen to their peers repeat the nasty things that you guys say on television about their father. I guess I will prepare myself to explain to my 5 year old that his dad is not actually a vampire and that major news outlets only say things like that to get attention.”
