In a recent interview, Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss surprisingly made news for ‘not’ including Lakers player Russell Westbrook. Jeanie talked to ‘GQ’ last week, where she shared the information of her team, the LA Lakers, as to what plans or how the preparations are going on. She even stated that the younger players would be given many responsibilities, the star players’ availability also matters, and they have made a strong roster this season.
Jeanie Buss quoted, “We changed coaches, so that’s a new voice. And we are continuing to, hopefully, stay injury-free. We want to see Anthony Davis stay on the floor and be healthy the whole season. And when you have Anthony and LeBron, there’s a lot of great things that can happen. But you have to have a supporting cast of players that can fill roles and also stay injury free. We have Kendrick Nunn coming back after missing last season, and a lot of young players that…I can name names, but until we see how they play there really isn’t…we have to give Darvin Ham all of the time and resources he needs to put the team together to see how they move forward.”
When Jeanie failed to mention the NBA star Russell Westbrook, it sparked rumors that the player may no longer be in the scheme of things for the Los Angeles Lakers. It seems that the Lakers might trade Westbrook very soon, but no confirmation has been obtained on it yet. This is not the first time these rumors have been made, as Russell has been in the news since he had a terrible season with the LA Lakers last year. On the contrary, the Lakers should release him from the squad.
