It appears the Damian Lillard trade saga is finally coming to an end. Reports have been released stating that Lillard, after lots of back-and-forth with the Portland Trail Blazers, is going to be a Milwaukee Bucks. This trade is completely shocking for many, who expected Lillard to land with the Miami Heat. It appears that the trade has shocked Jimmy Butler as well.
Butler, the central piece of the Miami Heat team, would’ve benefited greatly from Lillard’s arrival in Miami. Unfortunately for him, Lillard got traded to the Bucks. Just as the news dropped, Butler was ready with his reaction. Butler can be heard saying on his Instagram story, “Yo NBA man, y’all need to look into the Bucks for tampering… Y’all didn’t hear it from me, but I heard it from somebody.”
Butler didn’t look overjoyed with the information that, Lillard, who could’ve been his teammate, would now be pairing up with Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee.
To most NBA fans, this trade has come out of nowhere. The NBA world is still reeling from the implications this trade brings. Heat fans will be greatly disappointed with this news. They had the possibility of landing one of the greatest shooters to ever step foot on a basketball court. What’s shocking is that Lillard had made it public that the Heat was his preferred destination and the Heat still managed to not trade for him.
