In light of recent events, former NBA player JJ Redick said in a statement that the team in the league that wins the in-season tournament will have the most sickos. Redick compared the motivation to win the season tournament to that of the 2020 pandemic playoffs.

Even though a pool prize of $500,000 is offered for the one who wins, it may look like fans and NBA players participating might perceive this more like a gimmick. In a media interaction, Redick shed light on the in-season tournaments. He opined on the matter and made some bold claims.

Whoever ends up winning the In season tournament is probably the team with the most amount of sickos on their team. I mean that. Like, you don’t need to give Chris Paul a reason to be competitive. He wakes up that way. Some teams and some players are just wired that way. There’s a purpose to everything they do. The NBA weeds out the non-competitive people very quickly. And I think this is another opportunity for the competitive people to rise to the top.

The commissioner of the NBA, Adam Silver’s, changes to the league with the in-season tournaments are to involve more teams in the run for the NBA playoffs. And it is to create more competitiveness in the regular NBA season, followed by the new PPP (player participation policy) to entice fewer DNPs.

Richard Jefferson mocks JJ Redick on the LA Clippers’ new Floor design

The NBA season brought friendly banter between former NBA players JJ Redick, Richard Jefferson, and Ryan Ruocco, who are on ESPN’s broadcast team. They all spoke about the LA Clippers during the first day of the in-season tournaments between the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks. Richard called out Redick for being part of the problem after roasting the LA Clippers for their recent changes to their floor design.

JJ Redick shed light on the changes to the official floor design of the LA Clippers.

I was very confused. The first court I saw was the Clippers court and there was a trophy at half-court. And I was like, 'Well the Clippers never won a trophy.'

Ryan Rucco on the panel didn’t expect JJ Redick to comment on the amends that his former NBA team made.

You're allowed to speak about them like that of all the years you spent with them?
