Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons faced each other in a match between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. The last time both teams met after the trade, Embiid was out with an injury. Both players did exchange their feelings for each other on the court. The 76ers star is one of the most dominant big men in the league and knows how to tame down his opponent. Unfortunately, this time it was his former teammate who was at the receiving end.

In the third quarter, the 3 x NBA All-Star received the ball in the paint area. After receiving the ball, Embiid left Nic Claxton behind him and dunked the ball over Ben and the other two players. However, the 76ers star didn’t stop there and made sure he had a message for his former teammate. While Joel was running back to his defensive position, he savagely stared down Simmons.

Looking at the stat and the impact on the game, it is a no-brainer that Embiid had a bigger impact on the game. Despite not being the top scorer in the game, which he can do on a nightly basis, Embiid outmatched his former teammate in the win. Against the Nets, the 76ers won the game 133-137. Throughout the game, the personal animosity and difference between the two stars were a highlight. But if it was blockbuster entertainment for anybody, it was for fans.

Without hesitation, Embiid was the best player on the court for Philadelphia. He finished the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 35 minutes. In a close game between two top teams in the East, Simmons sat for most of the fourth quarter. He was far from being an impactful factor on the offensive glass, which has been his usual this season. The 3 x All-Star finished the game with 12 points and five assists. He made 5 of 7 shots from the field and also had a block.

For Brooklyn, Seth Curry scored a season-high 32 points. The Nets, who have dropped five of their previous seven games without Kevin Durant, had a big contribution with Kyrie Irving’s 30 points. Despite shooting 64.5% from the field, the Nets lost a close game. The Nets trailed by 10 points in the first half, however, they made a run, but big enough to win the game. Tyrese Maxey scored 27 points to lead the 76ers, and Embiid added 26. Philadelphia made 35 of 36 free throw attempts, with 23 coming from James Harden.
