Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman was to be depicted in a movie showcasing his time in Las Vegas in between the 1998 NBA Finals. The producers of the movie had roped in Hollywood superstar Jonathan Majors to portray Rodman. Sadly, the situation has turned on its head.

The film titled ’48 Hours in Vegas’ was to start filming soon. However, action Majors became embroiled in court after he was pressed with assault charges by his ex-girlfriend. The court issued a verdict indicting Majors on assault and harassment charges. Complex magazine reported that this led to him being dropped from the movie. Majors was looking forward to meeting with Rodman soon to get insights into his role.

It was revealed in the Netflix docuseries ‘The Last Dance’, that Dennis Rodman was absconding from the Chicago Bulls practice during the 1998 NBA Finals. Rodman, apparently went to Las Vegas after he asked head coach Phil Jackson to allow him to let himself loose. Michael Jordan and Jackson flew to Vegas to retrieve Rodman who was in a hotel with his former wife Carmen Electra.

But there are many untold stories of those nights which were to be revealed in the movie. After the episodes containing the exploits of Rodman aired, there was much buzz surrounding what entitled him to go on vacation in between NBA Finals games.

Jonathan Majors helming the movie was a victory for the producers as he is a major Hollywood star. But the court verdict has turned everything on its head. Majors has been dropped from lead roles with Marvel, DC, and many big-name productions following the verdict.
