Jordan Clarkson recently saw his best friends get traded to other teams. The Utah Jazz moving Donovan Mitchell came as little surprise considering that they were on the precipice of a big rebuild, but trading him to the Cleveland Cavaliers stunned many in the NBA. For weeks, the story around Mitchell was that he would ultimately find his way onto the New York Knicks team but didn’t happen because of some unresolved issues between the Knicks and the Jazz. Interestingly, the story now turns to jazz veterans such as Jordan Clarkson who too are rumored to be traded in the coming weeks.
Utah is no longer in the Western Conference title picture and will be through what appears to be a multi-year rebuild after dealing away both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert this summer. The Jazz will now focus on the other older players on their roster, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Jordan Clarkson, to trade them for additional future assets before the trade deadline.

In a podcast with ESPN presenters Jalen and Jacoby, Jordan Clarkson spoke of the current uncertainty within the jazz camp, when asked about how did it feel to see players like Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert get traded this is what Clarkson said, “changes happen um I mean it’s that’s tough man to see Donovan’s like every other day I’ll talk to him still every other day I still talk to Rudy every other day um like you said man we were invested in that.”
He continued by saying “ you know how it is the man when you when you uh pursuing a championship trying to win games, uh you know those relationships never break uh but it’s something that you don’t like hurt a little bit just kind of seeing uh what was going on uh maybe it was a give up on either side we don’t know but um I think for me whatever the next step is I’m here in a moment I’m ready to take whatever comes next for me”
While no progress has been made on any more deals for the Jazz at this time, their roster will be on many teams’ radars heading into the 2022-23 season since they have players who can contribute to a playoff-contending club right now, Jordan Clarkson being one of those players. The possible teams that may acquire the services of Jordan Clarkson are the Raptors, Grizzlies, and the Bucks.
