The new PPP policy will come into effect with this upcoming NBA season. Under this, the league is focusing on star players, and by star players, the policy dictates athletes who have received NBA All-Star in the previous seasons, should not miss any game while the season is running, without a valid reason.

The policy also states that all the teams with these star players, need to manage their teams and make sure that only one-star player is absent in any given game in the season. The board passed this policy with regard to teams allowing more than one-star player on the roster to rest, and this is what the policy is trying to prevent.

Kawhi Leonard also emphasizes his disapproval of the policy with respect to his time in Raptors stating “I’m not a guy that’s sitting down for load management I work out every day in the summertime to play the game, not to sit out and watch others play. … If the league is trying to mock what I did with the Raptors, it should stop, because I was injured during that whole year. … No league policy is helping me to play more games.”
