Last two seasons, the Brooklyn Nets have been in the news for all the bad publicity. Once a championship-caliber team was star-studded with historically great scorers, in Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant. However, in the meantime, each of them has demanded a trade. Kendrick Perkins, the former NBA player took to Twitter to remind everyone that the trio was the biggest letdown in the league’s history.

In his Tweet, Kendrick Perkins wrote, “Looking back…KD, Harden, and Kyrie are the biggest let down in NBA history. It will be an ESPN 30 for 30 short.” Perkins’ tweet came after Irving’s trade demand out of Brooklyn. The 8 x NBA All-Star was later traded to Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. Before Kyrie, Kevin Durant had demanded a trade from the Nets in the offseason. There is a strong chance that KD would also force his way out of New York next offseason. James Harden, who after forcing his way out of Houston, joined the Nets also left for Philadelphia and is having an excellent season so far.

With stars like that on the roster, the Nets’ chance of winning a championship was as high as any team in the league. The offense was versatile and lethal they were capable of winning without playing excellent offense on the floor. They were perhaps the best offensive team in the league’s history. It might or might not have worked to put together the roster solely depending on the offense but it would definitely have been interesting to check the ceiling for a team of that unique kind.

Can Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic duo work?

Irving and Doncic

Irving, who was traded to the Mavericks on Saturday will join forces with young superstar Luka Doncic in Dallas. However, studded the team looks like with historically great offensive players in Luka and Kyrie, many basketball pundits do not believe that it would be a successful combination. Perhaps, they might be right in certain regards. Being ball-dominant, both superstars have similar styles of playing basketball. Uncle Drew and Doncic are both pure point guards and would definitely want the ball in their hands.

The biggest adjustment that Jason Kidd now has to make is changing his entire game plan. When Harden was with the Nets, his numbers fell, except for a few games. Teaming up Doncic with Spencer Dinwiddie and Christian Wood wasn’t successful for Dallas. Now that Dinwiddie is back with his old team, it would be interesting to see if the deal was in place or not for the Mavericks.
