The Los Angeles Lakers have had a very disappointing season after giving the world a promise to dominate the league with their well-experienced roster. Towards the end of the regular season with under 20 games left to play, LA was still within reach of their playoff hopes. When it really matter, however, the team faced their worst possible times losing some important games that would have allowed them to participate in the play-in tournament.

The team slipped to the 11th seed in the Western Conference and by the end of the regular season, one particular player received a ton of criticism for the way the Lakers carried themselves this year. LeBron James was slammed for being lethargic over selecting his teammates. As you would have seen, Russell Westbrook despite having a good season while being the third option just simply never filled the requirements they needed.

Putting the purple and gold aside, the LeBron James put up an amazing season despite facing injuries once every two months. James has never missed more than a dozen games before arriving on the LA roster but clearly, at his age, the body tends to slowly give in to fatigue. After missing 26 games, the player averaged 30.3 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

Bron also became the first-ever player to record 10,000+ points, rebounds, and assists in an average NBA career. He is currently eyeing the top spot on the all-time scoring list which is now led by another Lakers legend, Kareem Abdul Jabbar. As he slowly closes on year 38, LeBron is well on his way to becoming the greatest player of all-time averaging numbers as if he were in his prime.

Even though LeBron James may have had a say in the Westbrook acquisition, he did try in having a huge impact on the Lakers, but injuries grabbed the best that it could. TMZ Sports was able to speak with his teammate Kent Bazemore who came to defend his partner. “The dude was third in the league in scoring. What else do you want him to do? He put his body through a lot this year to be there for us.”

Bron’s choices may have been a factor but it was certainly not the only one. Anthony Davis had a big part in influencing their downfall this season after going through multiple injuries. He appeared for only 40 games in total and averaged 23.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3 assists per game shooting 53.2% from the field. The Lakers have a lot of planning to be done this off-season on whether they wish to continue with the same team or shift around players to get their best odds to win another title under LBJ.
