In a recent interview following the release of his book ‘Unguarded,’ the player would reveal why he thought he was never able to win a defensive player of the year award. “I think they were too busy watching Michael (Jordan),” said Pippen. MJ had won the award during Scottie’s rookie year in the league. Besides that, he became a 10-time scoring leader and made the all-defensive team nine times.

Scottie Pippen would call out his former teammate for falsely portraying the stories that took place within the franchise at that time. He termed it as a publicity stunt pulled by Your Airness. The NBA legend also spoke about the greatest’s short stint in baseball. He said, “Yeah I was a big decision, but it was a selfish decision, but it was kind of who Michael Jordan was. That was a guy who believed he can do anything on his own.”
