“I thought Stephen Curry was white” Kevin Durant confessed shocked he was to know about Steph being Dell Curry’s son

Durant had already battled him on the pitch when both of them were only 10 years old. Durant emphasized how he thought Steph was ‘WHITE’ and was shocked to know that he was Dell Curry’s son.

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry were unarguably two of the greatest ever shooters to pair up alongside one another. Having won 2 NBA Championships together, Durant went onto reveal how shocked he was to know the truth about his former teammate when the duo locked horns for the first time on the AAU Circuit as 10-years-old.

However, not many would be aware that before Kevin Durant was acquired by the Golden State Warriors to pair alongside Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Steph, he had already battled him on the pitch when both of them were only 10 years old. Durant emphasized how he thought Steph was ‘WHITE’ and was shocked to know that he was Dell Curry’s son.

What was opinionated by Kevin Durant?

As a kid, Stephen Curry was scrawny and looked very different from the average AAU product of the time. Kevin Durant recalled it fondly during a promo event for NBA 2K15, “I told Steph this. I was about 10 years old, and our AAU team drove down to Charlotte. And there was one like, I thought he (Curry) was white. This yellow kid, right?”

“Like where I come from, we don’t see the light skin guys. It was always guys like me. I walk in the gym, and this guy just steps across half-court and just pulls the jump shot.”

Durant concluded by stating, “So when we played them, he had like 35, and he’s like 10 years old. And I was like, ‘Who is this?’ And 10 years later, oh, that’s Steph Curry. It’s crazy how you cross paths with these guys when your kids.”

That being said, with recent reports suggesting that Durant is not on the best terms with Brooklyn Nets, are we going to witness the Slim Reaper once again making way into a new team? Especially with Golden State Warriors managing to win their 7th NBA Title, will Durant seek for redemption, knowing that he has already been fired for his decision to leave his former team? With so much on the plate of the spoken off star, what drama awaits next in his NBA journey? Remains to be seen.
