“Can I take a victory lap?” Kevin Durant fires exposes Colin Cowherd for outrageous take on 2007 NBA Draft

Kevin Durant has brought back Colin Cowherd in the NBA headlines as recently a very old take of his dating back to the pre-draft of 2007 went viral. Where he fired some wild shots at the young KD who wasn’t even drafted in the league and of course is regretting as the internet wins again. Colin Cowherd probably didn’t even think that Kevin Durant, one day will be one of the greatest scorers ever and will rule the league for years while being in the top-3 conversation. But many knew it right before as he always showcased his potential which was limited to in-game as in the gym he probably had a hard time due to his poor physique which till the day is a concern but has never mattered. As he is strong enough to get the job done.

In the podcast clip, Colin Cowherd is criticizing and trolling Kevin Durant for not being that strong. As after KD’s pre-draft workouts, he quoted: “Players were rated on how many times they can bench press 185 pounds. That is important. Even though it’s not as important as in the NFL. The NBA season is long, your durability and your core strength is really important. Only one player in the pre-draft camp was unable to bench 185 pounds, Kevin Durant. Come on, that is brutal. Greg Oden is faster than Durant in the 3/4 court sprint, he is quicker than Durant in the lane, agility, drill and has better numbers in the running and standing vertical jump. Oh, it’s not even close… The big guy has a much better body and is faster and quicker and more agile than the wing guy? Draft over. Portland’s taking Greg Oden…”

Even though Colin Cowherd got the main story wrong he did got a part right with correct prediction. As the Portland Trailblazers drafted Greg Oden over KD at the first pick. But now it’s a changed story as Kevin Durant is one of the best active players, an All-Time top 10 for many, NBA 75 member, G.O.A.T for many around the globe and also one of the greatest scorers ever. He may have a bad physique and not that strong weight-room game but he’s surely a beast on the court who can pull up from anywhere at any given time and get the job done. So far he has won two championships and two FMVPs and an MVP award but the counting continues.

Colin Cowherd in his pre-draft of 2007 take also disrespected KD by comparing him with many players and trying to call him out as a bust who doesn’t deserve the energy and attention he has around him. So it was very expected that now when the world knows this Kevin Durant will fire back too. As back then Cowherd wasn’t a big name and not many cared about what one is saying. But now KD knows how to talk the trash and get the revenge so that’s what he did via his tweet.

Kevin Durant retweeting the viral clip via his personal Twitter handle wrote: “Can I take a victory lap or I gotta wait until I retire @ColinCowherd.” KD, as usual, is getting his revenge done with a sarcastic tweet from his side which looks innocent and sounds cool but in reality, is a tight slap on the face of Colin Cowherd for getting it all wrong around him. KD even if retired without winning any more championships he’ll still be one of the best ones out there and there’s no doubt about it.
