“F*ck, I quit this series” Kevin Durant’s secret message to Kyrie Irving after worst choke vs Celtics in Game 2
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets are currently facing the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. The team had a very underwhelming regular season for reasons that may have been out of the control of the coaching staff or the players. Kyrie Irving’s return seemed like their only hope of winning the title this season but now the Celtics are exposing the Nets’ biggest flaws.
The Nets were very close to winning Game 1 while Irving put up a masterful performance. Jayson Tatum had found his way through the defenders and beat the buzzers to give the Celtics a one-point lead win over Brooklyn. KD described the unfortunate fate of his team as one of the hardest things he has faced on the basketball court, he said, “Even though we know it’s a series, they sting.”
Celtics steal Game 2 in a win over Kevin Durant and the Nets
The Nets were able to put up a decent first half with 33 points coming out of the first quarter and 32 in the next. The Celtics made use of their defensive prowess and worked Brooklyn through the final 12 minutes of the game with only 17 points coming out of it. All fingers may be pointed towards Kevin Durant as he struggled from the field shooting 4-13.
He finished the game with 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Kyrie Irving did not have much of showing either recording 10 points and 8 rebounds. The player was fined $50,000 after throwing inappropriate gestures toward Celtics fans in Game 1. Today’s lineup for Boston consisted of an eight-man rotation out of which seven players scored in double figures. Tatum recorded a double-double of 19 points and 10 assists. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics’ offense with 22 points.
Kevin Durant frustrated after Nets lose back to back game in playoffs
Kevin Durant is usually a player who could work through defensive schemes with ease considering his playing style and his size. However, the Celtics managed to hold his scoring ability to a standstill and KD was very upset about it. After missing the final shot to extend the Nets’ lead in the third quarter, Durant was seemingly angered by the situation he was in. While walking to the bench, he spoke to Kyrie saying, “F**k, I quit this series.”
The All-Star was would open up about his performance during the game saying, “They’re doing a good job trying to cut off my scoring, limit my shot-making. It’s on me to figure it out.” Boston has taken a 2-0 lead in the series leaving Brooklyn in a state of shambles. Only 7.1% of teams with a 0-2 deficit have been able to bounce back to win a series. Game 3 will take place on Saturday at the Barclays Center, New York City. The Nets have a home-court advantage and could potentially make a comeback.
