Klay Thompson loves being back in the NBA Finals
There was a lot of speculation about where Klay Thompson and Golden State will be at the end of this NBA season, after suffering their worst couple of years in recent history. People forget that ‘Warriors’ is their name, a part of who they are. Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics was essentially a heavyweight brawl for 48 minutes with both sides landing big blows throughout. However, in the end, it was Stephen Curry and the Warriors who made just enough plays to come away with a 107-97 victory to even this series at 2-2 and keep their championship aspirations alive.
Poole found his groove, Klay made a comeback after being out for 2.5 years, and Curry, well he being the Chef has deep fried all his opponents, he is pumped up for the NBA Finals, he wants that 4th Ring. Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors were in a must-win situation in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. But playing in front of TD garden against young and hungry Boston Celtics players was never an easy task. Andrew Wiggins had a monster game of his own with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole also did their part combining for 32 points.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the charge for Boston but their respective efforts weren’t enough for the Celtics to match Curry’s massive night. Jayson dropped 23 points while Jaylen Brown added 21 as Boston fell to the Warriors. When a game is within five points with five minutes or less remaining, that’s defined as clutch time, and the Warriors outscored the Celtics 15-0 in those minutes in Game 4. That is the highest differential in a Finals game in the last 25 years.

Golden State don’t give up, they conquer, which is what they did as they invaded Boston’s home court and fly back to the Chase Centre all-square in the series on 2-2. We’ve witnessed the Warriors execute smooth rotations and accurate shooting against their opponents and that’s the point which gives them the edge . Their bread-and-butter stuff has not worked particularly well against the Celtics. The Warriors have missed the playoffs in the last two seasons. They weren’t favored to win the title this year, but now find themselves two wins away from doing just that, and Klay Thompson is pumped to witness it.
“It’s like a Hollywood script really, I mean, when you look at the preseason predictions from all the pundits and the quote unquote experts, not a lot of people in our corner. So to get to this point and do it with a bunch of guys, who might’ve been, you know, outcasts in free agency and kind of revived all of our careers is special.
“But we’re not satisfied with just getting here, we’ve tasted a championship, we want to have that feeling again, and we know how hard it is, especially this part of the year. You know, emotions run high, and there’s momentum shifts every game, so we just got to stay even keeled if we got to get there.” Klay explained to the ‘SiriusXM NBA Radio’.
The Golden State Warriors’ roster includes a lot of guys who are still young in the league, and haven’t proven themselves. But players like Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney fit well within the system, as displayed in the playoffs this year. The Warriors are definitely looking good to go out and grab that NBA Championship. The horrific end to the 2019 NBA Finals, which saw Klay suffering a torn ACL, coupled with 2 of their worst seasons in recent history, some people were assuming the dynasty had died, well, seems like it won’t so soon.
You cannot take your eyes of the drama in this fiery bout between the Champions of the East and the Conquerors of the West, Splash brother draining 3’s to the Celtics outclassing them in the next, it has been going back and forth for the first 4 games of the NBA Finals. While Curry has been scintillating, Thompson is yet to have a highlight night, but Steve Kerr won’t be too worried. It doesn’t take much time for Klay to get into a shooting streak. That threat is something the Celtics will have to account for in their defensive plans, as Game 5 is right on the horizon. Beware Celtics, the Warriors’ Dynasty approaches !
