Recently, his off-court appreciation from the fans came to light. Irving appreciated how the Dallas community has embraced the often criticized superstar for his beliefs and views.

After yesterday’s home game against the Utah Jazz, Mavericks reporter Noah Weber asked questions to the superstar point guard. Weber asked Irving about his adjustments to life in Dallas and how the community embraced him. This is what Irving answered:

For me, its just getting adjusted here and established as one of the community leaders. I have my own beliefs and views, and I think being here in Dallas, I’ve been accepted, you know way beyond just my talent on the court. It's for what I represent in the broader world and how I make an impact. I think that's the genuine connection I have here.
