“His value is at an all time low” Kyrie Irving can best become a rental player at best
Kyrie Irving
The Brooklyn Nets are experiencing more chaos than anticipated as a result of Kyrie Irving‘s situation. With Kevin Durant demanding to be moved away, the organisation will be seeking to rebuild. The volatile point guard Irving may have chosen to enter the final year of his Brooklyn Nets deal this summer, but it doesn’t mean he plans to suit up for the team in 2022–2023. Despite requesting for a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, Durant might still team up with Kyrie Irving. Perhaps with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers this time according to recent reports.
Following Kevin Durant’s request for a trade, ESPN NBA expert Brian Windhorst claims that Irving is attempting to hand-pick his next team, presumably the Los Angeles Lakers. The once-famous figure, though, is far from having the influence or worth he once did. One of the largest deals in basketball’s recent history might take place as two of the league’s top players may join the Lakers.
Brian Windhorst discusses Kyrie Irving’s potential Lakers move
The Kevin Durant/Kyrie Irving era with the Brooklyn Nets appears to be over after 44 games played together in three seasons. Durant has submitted a trade request to the Nets despite having recently agreed to a four-year, $194 million deal. And Irving chose to accept his $36.9 million player option for the next season after threatening to decline it. Irving averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds in 29 starts last season but missed a lot of home games because he wasn’t vaccinated. The Nets appear committed to securing the best possible agreement for both Durant and Irving. But it’s unfortunate because Irving has little to no trade value right now.
Even more than what the New Orleans Pelicans received in exchange for Anthony Davis, a deal for Durant would need an extraordinary return. Despite his recent history of injuries, he still has four years left on his contract and is a top-5 player. The Lakers might at least settle for Irving if they are unable to sign both Kyrie and KD, which would undoubtedly necessitate moving Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. Finding a team willing to take a chance on Irving may be challenging given his recent history of game absences as h e recently chose to exercise his player option for the following season.

According to NBA expert Brian Windhorst, it will be challenging to deal a $36 million contract for a team wanting to rearrange its squad. Windhorst said that Irving is developing his own departure strategy, which centres on reuniting with his old pal, LeBron James, as the Durant issue dominates the headlines. He stated: “He is focused on forcing himself to the LA Lakers. Talking with executives over the last couple hours, the value of Kyrie Irving in a trade has absolutely plummeted. They know that he’s going to be a pure rental. If he doesn’t want to go to the situation he’s been going to, it’s unclear what he will do.”
Because they have always insisted on keeping their first-round selections, the Los Angeles Lakers are unwilling to trade with Russell Westbrook. The 33-year-old l Westbrook and his $47 million, one-year contract could be the best the Nets can get back for Irving at this time. The Brooklyn Nets front office will have to respond to that question in the upcoming weeks. If the answer is yes, Irving may fulfil his ambition and rejoin LeBron in Los Angeles.
