“I don’t stand for anything close to hate speech or antisemitism” Kyrie Irving issues unexpected statement after re-joining Brooklyn Nets

Kyrie Irving is back in the league with the Brooklyn Nets as they just destroyed the Memphis Grizzlies. His suspension came to an end after 8 games as he fulfilled the conditions and has even sent out various apologies since then. Kyrie Irving also issued a statement during his return at the morning shoot-around in the Nets’ building and once again apologized to everyone who was hurt.

Kyrie Irving now is a changed man and has understood where it all went wrong for him. As the guard now believes he should have handled everything differently, especially the interviews. It all started with Irving promoting an anti-semitic film on his social media handles. But now the guard has his mind right and has claimed to not be anti-semitic. And, that’s exactly what Adam Silver and Joe Tsai also said about him after the meets.

Kyrie Irving in his pre-game media availability again addressed the whole situation and deeply apologized about it. And, while doing so he said: “I just want to offer my deep apologies to all those who were impacted over these last few weeks, specifically my Jewish relatives, my Black relatives, all races and cultures. Feel like we all felt an impact and I don’t stand for anything close to hate speech or antisemitism or anything that is ‘anti,’ going against the human race.”

Further, Kyrie Irving also mentioned how he didn’t hurt anyone intentionally and even cleared the dirt off his name. As he added: “I feel like we all should have an opportunity to speak for ourselves when things are assumed about us and I feel it was necessary for me to stand in this place and take accountability for my actions, because there was a way I should have handled all this.”

Kyrie Irving also mentioned the missed opportunities he got by saying: “As I look back and reflect when I had the opportunity to offer my deep regrets to anyone that felt threatened or felt hurt by what I posted, that wasn’t my intent at all.”

Can Kyrie Irving, Nets turn their struggling season around?

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant can surely turn the struggling season of the Brooklyn Nets around. As they were already balling out on the offensive end and now look more improved on all the ends of the court. Uncle Drew in his return dropped 14 points and got 5 boards. And, that’s understandable as he wasn’t around for 8 games. Also against the Memphis Grizzlies KD and Ben Simmons got the job done.

The defensive end of the team may improve more with time. As Ben Simmons is finally showing out his greats for the franchise and if he’s able to get back to his form and back up the superstar duo. The Nets are straight contenders with no doubt. But they may need a voice on the bench to get things done while guarding the rivals. Once they fix their defensive end they’ll surely be having a successful season and be back in the conversation.
