Kendrick Perkins was full of praise for the Dallas Mavericks duo of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.
Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic
Kendrick Perkins was amazed at what he saw at the Golden 1 Center when the duo of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a hard-fought 107-103 victory against the Sacramento Kings. He then took to X to express his thoughts.
The former Boston Celtics center, just like everyone else, was in awe of the Mavs duo as they helped their team to a six straight win and hold onto sixth place in the Western Conference standings. It is safe to say that the duo have lived up to the billing.
I’m almost convinced that Kyrie and Luka just might be the most dangerous duo in the League. Huge W for the Mavs tonight against the Kings!Kendrick Perkins on X
Kyrie Irving led the player statistics chart with 30 points, three rebounds, and two assists, while Luka Doncic had 26 points, nine rebounds, and 12 assists. Both players even had to overcome an injury scare during the game to ensure the Mavs stayed on track to secure a place in the playoffs.
Kendrick Perkins has in the past praised the duo before, most notably when they acquired Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington to their roster. The Mavericks have genuinely been on fire thanks to their dynamic duo, as they’re second on the Western Conference form table, only behind the Houston Rockets, with a 9-1 record.
Luka Doncic calls Kyrie Irving ‘The Batman’
Luka Doncic was humble as he submitted to his partner in crime by naming him Batman and taking the Robin tag for himself, after the fictional DC Comics characters. He said this after the devastating 132-96 win against the Sacramento Kings.
He's the Batman, I'm the Robin. Nah, just amazing, man. Every guy on our team is amazing. He's just a great person. We get along so well. The chemistry is really good right now.Luka Doncic said after the game
Both players have struck a great partnership and bond throughout the season, with Irving crowning Doncic as one of the greatest in the game. Their stats this season have seen Doncic average 33.8 PPG, 9.1 RPG, and 9.8 APG, while Uncle Drew is on 25.4 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 5.2 APG.
