Kyrie Irving has signed a long-term deal with Chinese sportswear brand ANTA. This deal allows him to be the Chief Creative Officer, giving him the ability to sign other players/athletes and also help develop manufacturing in the US. Kyrie will join Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors who signed with ANTA back in 2017.

Irving was with Nike since his rookie year in 2011 after when the company launched Kyrie’s signature collection back in 2014. Kyrie’s shoes are still incredibly popular both among players and fans, as over 60 players wore them during the latest NBA season and it is one of the highest-grossing shoe collections Nike has ever put out. Kyrie and Nike were supposed to sign a new deal next year, but following Kyrie’s anti-Semitic controversy, Nike had to cut ties with the eight-time All-Star.

Now that Kyrie is with ANTA, his Shock Wave 5 sneaker is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2024. Fans are eager to see what Kyrie brings with the shoe market with a new brand.

Kyrie’s new shoe deal with Chinese brand ANTA comes only four days after he signed a new extension with the Dallas Mavericks for three years $126 million. Fans never leave an opportunity to roast Kyrie over his flat-earth comments or his anti-Semitic posts in the past. It didn’t change with him signing a new shoe deal and fans on Twitter trolled him. Here are some reactions:

Kyrie would look to make an immediate impact on the court with his new shoes because he and the Mavericks didn’t make the playoffs last season after he got traded at the trade deadline. Dallas has signed Grant Williams to replace Dorian Finney Smith as a primary wing. They are trying to add more pieces around Kyrie and Luka this season to make a run for the championship next season.
