Up until a few years ago, it seemed LaVar Ball was everywhere. Ball was often regarded as an egoistic and loudmouthed personality who loved being the center of attention. He made some egregious claims, once saying he would beat Michael Jordan in a 1v1. He even launched his own shoe brand in 2016, the BBB – Big Baller Brand. The brand seemed only secondary to his main objective, however – getting his sons into the NBA.

He succeeded with flying colors in that regard. Two of his sons were drafted top 5 overall, Lonzo Ball in 2017 and LaMelo Ball in 2020. After his sons got into the NBA, LaVar Ball was in the spotlight less often. Now, he’s back. LaVar Ball recently announced that his company, the Big Baller Brand, would launch a new shoe line. He even got his sons to promote the shoes on social media.

Though the Big Baller Brand has been relatively inactive these past few years, LaVar launching a new type of shoe shows that they might be planning on making a big return.

The shoes haven’t been designed like the previous Big Baller Brand shoes, which were used by Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo for basketball games. While LaVar has called them sneakers, they look nothing like the sneakers the public is used to. Perhaps this design was Ball’s attempt to come back with a bang.

NBA fans ridicule the new shoes BBB

NBA fans across the internet took one look at the shoes and decided it wasn’t for them. They say the design is horrible and add that the shoes are way too overpriced for a shoe looking like that.

Twitter went wild after LaVar released the first look of his shoes. Fans have gone absolutely wild, saying these shoes will injure any basketball player who has the courage to put them on. Here’s what people are saying:

While most have absolutely refused to buy the shoes, a small section is saying they absolutely love them. How widespread the shoe really is will be seen when it’s launched in the market. Until then, everything people say is simply speculation.
