“I can’t beat this team alone” Luka Doncic kicks the bench in frustration as Klay Thompson detonates with career-best form in Game 5

Luka Doncic is proud of the Dallas Mavericks for the performance they put up throughout the season but again many times he was seen helpless and frustrated. As even after his godlike offensive skillset and a record-making or breaking performance the Mavericks fell on the losing end and that’s exactly what happened in the western conference finals series against the Golden State Warriors. The Dubs have advanced to the NBA Finals after pulling down the curtains on the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the western conference finals. Luka Doncic played his best basketball of the whole season in the series but still fell on the unfortunate losing end. As the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors showed out to the world that they are back in the business and it’s not easy to get past them as they close the series by 4-1.

The Golden State Warriors hosted the Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center for Game 5 of the series. The game was closely contested and head to head but favored the Golden State Warriors from the starting minutes. The Warriors were comparatively better than the Mavericks on most of the ends which eventually got them the dub. Klay Thompson was also back in form and single-handedly ran the offensive end while the Mavs were nothing but speechless spectating the Game 5 Klay Thompson takeover and pull down the curtains on them. The final box score stands at 120-110 favoring the Golden State Warriors as Stephen Curry walked away with the Western Conference Finals MVP Trophy. Luka Doncic though played his heart and soul on the court and was even successful many times but ended up selling the lead and yes, the series too.

In the game, Klay Thompson dropped 32 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. While Luka Doncic was limited to 28 points, 6 assists, and 9 rebounds. Both of the players also made it to the headlines as the Slovenian All-Star point guard was frustrated watching Klay Thompson destroy them in a do-or-die situation and wrap their postseason up. That frustration didn’t age well for the Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks as everything started going southwards since then.

In the third quarter with ten minutes and fourteen seconds remaining Luka Doncic smoked an easy lay-up which was tapped to Draymond Green by Kevon Looney who then ran down the court and gave a bounce pass to Klay Thompson who then swished it from downtown and gave the Warriors a 21 points lead. This made the Mavs call in a timeout and while going towards the bench Luka Doncic showed his temper by kicking the bench with anger as he was frustrated watching him and the team fall on the losing end.
