He plays the game at a different pace,” said Dillion Brooks after the game. Brooks likened Kyrie’s game to legends of the past and is amazed by how quick Kyrie is during games as he is one of the top 10 fastest players in the NBA.
“He uses both hands, mid-range God. And that’s where I want to be one day, be able to shoot the ball more,” concluded Brooks. Irving is known for his tight handles because he is ambidextrous. Kyrie has mentioned that he was initially left-handed and changed hands due to catholic school and learned to use both hands with precision. Brooks aspires to be as skilled as Irving one day when it comes to shooting the ball, as Kyrie is one of the most clutch and lethal three-point shooters of all time, shooting almost 40% throughout his career.
Kyrie Irving topped the scoring for the Dallas Mavericks with 28 points in their 112-108 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Australian guard was playing in just his second match back from injury and is currently without Luka Doncic. Kyrie Irving and the Mavs have slipped to the 7th seed following that loss putting them in the play-in tournament along with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Kyrie Irving had no interest in receiving Dillion Brooks’ jersey after the game

Brooks offered Kyrie his jersey after a grueling game on Monday night, and Kyrie gave Brooks, a big fan of Kyrie, his jersey without accepting Brooks’. Kyrie Irving seemed to show no interest and walked away from Brooks after giving him his jersey.
Brooks stood there puzzled and just walked away following the partial exchange. Dillion Brooks had some choice words for Kyrie Irving missing their previous matchup, which looks to have caused this incident. Kyrie explained his actions in his post-game interview, where he said – “I’ll probably get it next time. Not this time. I was really onto the next thing, my thought process-wise.”
Irving was noticeably frustrated after the loss, which could have contributed to his icy demeanor toward Brooks. The Mavericks risk their guaranteed playoff spot day-day as they fail to get a winning streak going. The Western Conference is so tight now, and a single loss/win could cause a shift in seeding. The Dallas Mavericks have no more regular season games against the Grizzlies, so if Kyrie wants that jersey, the Mavs will have to make the playoffs.
