Jaden Hardy out there is really proving the Dallas Mavericks right for trusting him and drafting him as the 37th pick overall in the Draft. He already has a tag as fans call him out as “The Steal of the Draft”. The time he spent in NBA G League is really helping him as he clowns his rivals and opponents. But unexpectedly last night he clowned himself and made it to the headlines. Jaden Hardy suited up for the Dallas Mavericks at NBA Summer League 2K23 in Las Vegas to battle out against the young guns of the Los Angeles Lakers.
This year’s Summer League has been wild and still there are games remaining. As it is full of talent and great potential which soon we’ll be taking over the league. But Jaden Hardy now has also added a Shaqtin moment of his to the list and is viral since then. The Lakers young guns had an easy road battling it all out against the Mavericks’ Summer League roster as they got a Dub. But the Mavs didn’t give up at all and fought till the very end. Moses Wright and Jaden Hardy were trying their best to get it done but it just didn’t work for them as the rivals were just comparatively better.
In the game, Jaden Hardy dropped 15 points and had 1 steal, 3 assists and 3 rebounds. He has already shown out his heroics to the world earlier and proved his potential to be the guy in the league. He can be a great difference maker coming off the bench and pacing the game up while backing up the Slovenian All-Star point guard Luka Doncic. But still, there’s a lot to learn for him and fans have high expectations around him. As they believe if he’s developed and trusted with fair opportunities he’ll be a solid role player in his initial years. But with all those appreciations, as of now, he’s also getting trolled for his Shaqtin moment.
Jaden Hardy’s Shaqtin moment
In the third quarter with four minutes and forty-three seconds left on the clock. Jaden Hardy was supposed to inbound the ball. But he was really focused on the game and had his head into it so he can cut the lead and win it all. But in all that he forgot to inbound the ball to one of his teammates and dribbled it on the floor causing another turnover. He had a total of seven turnovers in the game. Him dribbling the ball inside instead of inbounding it while being wide open really has him listed as the Shaqtin MVP but unfortunately, that’s not a thing for the Summer League.
Such mistakes can cause some great trouble once the actual league starts. So him learning now and avoiding those as a rook will help him a lot and that’s what the Dallas Mavericks want him to do. For him to succeed as a guard he already is walking on the right path but he has to work on his ball-handling skills and has to protect the possession so his team can score and be on the winning end.
